Private Jet FAQ

Are Empty Leg Flights Cheaper?

Empty legs can be cheaper, but they are less flexible.

An empty leg is created when an aircraft needs to reposition without passengers. Because the aircraft is already scheduled to move, the price can be lower than a normal charter. The trade-off is flexibility: timing, route and aircraft type are tied to another confirmed flight.

If the original flight changes or cancels, the empty leg may change or disappear. Empty legs are best for clients who can move around the aircraft schedule rather than requiring full control.

  • Best for flexible dates and timings.
  • Less reliable than a dedicated charter.
  • Not always available on the route you need.
